The Australasian Seabird Group, a special interest group of BirdLife Australia and Birds New Zealand, is pleased to provide the 2025 Oceania Seabirds conference and workshops with two (2) participation support grants of AUS$2000 each to any practitioners based in a Pacific nation who are currently researching the conservation, management and community involvement in seabird populations or species, or are monitoring and direct management of colonies within this region. They would need to present a talk and attend in person to be eligible. Funds can be used to defray costs from purchase of an airfare and/or accommodation to attend the 2025 Oceania Seabirds conference and workshops.
Applicants for this funding need apply and supply an abstract for 2025 Oceania Seabirds. Provide to the ASG a short statement (in English) of their seabird research program, which NGO they are working for, or which university they are enrolled in, together with a reference or a supporting statement from their supervisor. Applicants should send these through to the Secretary – Australasian Seabird Group: asg@birdlife.org.au
ASG is pleased to announce that the two support grants have been awarded:
Alanna Smith (Te Ipukarea Society, Cook Islands)
Ioane Etuale (Samoa Conservation Society).
